Halloween Dollar Store Vignette

September 13, 2013

I have a super quick, inexpensive project for you today- A Halloween Dollar Store Vignette!
I ran into the Dollar Tree yesterday looking for some needed items and ran across this really cute felt spider web.  I didn’t have anything in mind to use it for, but knew I’d come up with something.
I went around the corner and I saw some shelf liner in this black and white pattern and knew it would be really nice with that spider web. Thus, my project was born.  Everything used in this project came from the dollar store or the dollar section of Target.
You will need:
a piece of foam board- I used one that I have used to paint on.
roll of shelf liner
felt spider web
candle stick
2 pumpkins- Mine came from the dollar section of Target
I measured my foam board and cut it in half with an X-Acto knife.
I hot glued the shelf liner onto my foam board.  It wasn’t as wide as my board so I pieced it.
After the liner was glued to the foam board I laid the spider web on the board to decide where I wanted it to be.  I wanted my web to be off the board a little bit.  I glued the web down and then cut the piece that hangs over the edge.
I then chose a spider and cut it out of vinyl.  I wanted it to be stiffer than the actual vinyl so I also cut a spider out of card stock and put the vinyl on it.

.

I decided where I wanted the spider to be and then glued it place.
I sat it on my mantel and added my pumpkin’s.  I set one pumpkin on a candle stick (from the dollar store) and the other next to it.   In 30 min.you have a vignette that was made for $5.00.
Do you decorate for Halloween?
If you need some more Halloween decor check out these past posts I’ve done.
