I recently was introduced to a company that does some amazing things, Project 7. They make everyday products that give back to seven areas for good around the globe.
These areas are: Feed the Hungry, Heal the Sick, Hope for Peace, House the Homeless, Quench the Thirsty, Teach them Well and Save the Earth.
I really like the fact that by buying products I would normally buy, they give back to those in need! It’s a win-win. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and think I’m too busy to give back. Or, my perfectionism gets in the way and I think it has to be this huge and grandiose thing. Learning about this company gave me the motivation to head on up to my local Meijer store and purchase 10 packs of Project 7 gum and ingredients to make a meal for a friend who is such a help to me. It reminds me that giving back doesn’t have to be hard.
The meal I chose to make was Creamy Chicken Broccoli Pasta. A nice, quick and easy meal to thank her for all she does for me and my boys. She and her family have been such a blessing to ours. She’s watched my boys often – even a week at a time and hauls them around often. She just breathes life into them and I am very grateful for her! I wanted to give back to her in a small way.
Here’s how easy it is.
Box of pasta cooked
1 jar of Alfredo sauce
1 can of cheddar cheese soup
2 chicken breasts
. 1 Cook the broccoli until just tender.
2. Cube your chicken and saute it.
3. Cook your noodles
4. Mix your broccoli, chicken, noodles, Alfredo sauce and can of soup all together in a 9 x 13 pan.
5. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Add salt and pepper and bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes.
Today I surprised her with the casserole and a jar of homemade applesauce. A quick and easy meal. Oh, I gave them a few packs of gum as well. Nice and Easy! Again, I have to remind myself that it doesn’t have to be big and fancy to be meaningful. A small act can make a big impact, just like Project 7 does.
I then had fun giving away the packs of gum I had bought and educating others on Project 7. I had forgotten how fun it is to give!

Do you have any ways you give back that are simple ? I think I’m going to challenge myself to do something once a month so I’d love some ideas.
