There was a moment—maybe you’ve had one too—when you looked in the mirror and thought, “Where did I go?”
Not the woman who checks the calendar for everyone, cooks three meals a day, cleans up after everyone, and tries to keep the peace. Not the woman who nods and smiles and quietly cries behind closed doors.
But you.
The woman with dreams. The woman who used to laugh without fear of the future. The woman who didn’t second-guess every single thing.
Somewhere along the way—in the swirl of motherhood, marriage, ministry, and managing it all—you disappeared. And now it’s not just about being tired. It’s about feeling lost.
You’re not alone, friend.
Maybe you’ve tried to bring it up, only to be met with a blank stare or “You’re just in a season.” Maybe you’ve gotten so good at pretending you’re fine that even the people closest to you don’t see the ache.
But God sees it.
And here’s the beautiful truth that may bring tears to your eyes:
You haven’t disappeared to Him. Not for a second.
Who You Are Hasn’t Been Erased
Your identity isn’t defined by your roles or what you do for others.
It’s not based on how your husband responds, how your kids behave, or whether the house is tidy.
You are who God says you are.
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” —2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
Your value isn’t up for debate. Your purpose wasn’t canceled when you got married, had kids, or started serving everyone but yourself. And your identity hasn’t changed just because you feel unseen.
It’s Time to Come Back to You
Let’s make this simple and gentle—like Jesus would.
Here are 3 small steps to rediscover your identity in Christ:
1. Truth-Tell with Jesus
Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Ask: “Jesus, where have I forgotten who I am?”
Write what comes. No editing. Just honesty.
2. Remember Who He Says You Are
Here are three identity statements to write down and repeat every morning this week:
-
“I am chosen, even when I feel forgotten.”
-
“I am God’s masterpiece, even on messy days.”
-
“I am fully known and deeply loved, even when I feel invisible.”
3. Take 1 Brave Step Just for You
Maybe it’s a walk by yourself. Maybe it’s signing up for something that fills you up. Maybe it’s saying “no” when you usually say yes.
Take one step back toward the woman God made you to be.
Sweet sister, you’re not lost. You’re loved.
You’re not broken. You’re becoming.
Let this be the week you come home to who you really are—chosen, called, created by the One who sees every part of you and still says, “She’s mine.”
