“Thank You Jesus” Easter Tree

April 4, 2012 By Barb Camp 3 Comments

I am reading a great book called “One Thousand Gifts, A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are” by Ann Voskamp.  The book talks about the importance of counting God’s gifts-graces and challenges you to find 3 gifts- graces everyday.

With Easter coming I really wanted something that we could do as a family to help us be thankful for all we’ve been given, especially at this season- Christ’s resurrection.  We often do a “Thanksgiving tree”  so why not make an “Thank You Jesus” Easter tree.

Here’s how we did it:
Addyson (my grand daughter) and I ventured out to find  some twigs.

I grabbed my apothecary jar that was already filled with moss and Easter eggs and thought that would make the perfect base for my tree.

I then got out my Silhouette machine and downloaded a variety of crosses and Easter eggs and cut out several styles and colors.  I cut enough of them so I could glue two together and wouldn’t have a white background. The next step was to laminate them.  This isn’t a necessary step but I did it so that I could use them again if I wanted.

After I laminated I cut them out, punched a hole in them and grabbed my box of ribbon and added ribbon to each one.  I hung them on the tree.

I then cut several plain eggs out of purple and yellow card stock and punched a hole and put ribbon through them.  I will set those by each plate at Easter dinner to add what we are thankful to Jesus for.  Cost was free except for the 2 Silhouette shapes I purchased. Everything else I had.

The finished project.
