"Give Thanks" Fall Mantel

HI Everyone, did you have a GREAT weekend??  I sure did!  My mom flew up from FL to go to a wedding in the Upper Peninsula. So, my sisters and I went up to the UP with her.  I'm not sure if we've ever had time with just her and no kids, spouses, etc. so it was fun to get to enjoy her in a new way.  Besides getting to enjoy my mom we got to see some incredible fall colors.  I LOVE seeing God's artwork each year.

In conjunction with Emily at 52 Mantels celebrating her 52nd Mantel and her having a wonderful giveaway.  I thought I'd share my "Give Thanks"  mantel with you guys as well.

Here's a close up of each side:

I printed the 16 x 20 Eighteen25 Fall Subway art  and framed it.  I added my napkin decoupaged pumpkins and a fall leaf garland.  

For this side I found this wooden tiered bowl at Goodwill and gave it a coat of hammered brown spray pain t and added my glitter pumpkin to the top and some gourds to the bottom.  I also bought a charger and cut some vinyl from my silhouette out and applied it and dry rubbed some copper paint on it.

Mantel decorating doesn't have to be expensive.I try every year to add one or two new things to my fall decorating stash when they go on clearance.  I don't decorate a lot for Halloween because I don't want to have to change everything.  I do  a fall theme for the most part so that I can keep it up until Thanksgiving.

So here's a break down of the cost of the mantel. I had the picture printed from Sam's for 5.98. I already had the frame and  the gourds I grew in my garden.  The bowl from Goodwill was 2.99 and I had the spray paint.  The glitter pumpkin was bought last year at Target for $2.50.  The Charger was 1.00 and I had the brown vinyl and the copper paint.  The leaf garland was bought after the fall season several years ago for half price.  The "Give Thanks" bunting was purchased at TJ Maxx for 6.99 a few years ago.  There also are a couple dollar store garlands.  Make sure to stop by tomorrow to add up your mantel to the linky party!
