Fall Decor with Upcycled Beer Cans

September 26, 2014

I’m so excited to share with you my Fall decor with upcycled beer cans.  Who would’ve thought you could create such pretty decor with a bottle that gets tossed.  Over labor day weekend my son in law was drinking a can of beer.  I  told him to save the cans for me that I LOVED the shape and knew I could come up with something fun using them.  Second Chance to Dream: Fall Beer Bottle Upcycle

Here’s what I did:

I spray painted my cans with a brown hammered paint. I like the hammered paint because it leaves a texture and hides a lot.

Once the cans were dry I cut out the words FALL and some leaf embellishments.   I also added some twine around the top of the cans.

Because I loved them so much I decided to turn the cans around and put THANKS on them.  I cut the letters from vinyl and cut acorn and leaf embellishments.  This way when Thanksgiving comes around I only have to turn the cans around.

Thanks Cans

Here they are sitting on my mantel.

I had everything on hand so it was a FREE project!

Great Idea...I've used soda bottles before, and I love the hammered spray paint too...I've used the black. But haven't used the two together. And I really like that you can flip the bottles around for a second saying/word. Pinning it! Thanks for sharing :) I have a party called Teach Me Tuesday that you are more than welcome to stop by and link up anything that teaches us something. AND, this week (09/29) there will be a special party for anything Breast Cancer, Halloween, pink or orange. Stop by there too if you like.

What a cute way to upcycle something so uninspiring! Although, I must say, someone in your household drinks fun beer. I only ever see regular cans and bottles! lol Congrats on being most viewed on this week's Idea Box Link Party!!!
