Today I’m sharing a quick Valentine Vignette.
After Christmas I made a trip to Hobby Lobby. I love that store but the closest one to me is and hour and fifteen minutes away, so I don’t get there as often as I’d like. I love it because they always have GREAT clearances. I knew that there Christmas stuff would be marked down. It was my lucky day because all the Christmas stuff was 90% off. When clearance shopping I always try to find items that I can use for more than one holiday. This red plate was $2.49 so I got it for .25. I knew it would look great with a vinyl heart on it.
This metal bird wall art I found in the clearance aisle. I thought it would look great with vinyl hearts on it to signify “love birds”. This was marked down to 6.00. So I cut out 2 vinyl hearts and placed on the birds.
When I got home I went to my silhouette library and found a heart pattern and cut it out in white vinyl and placed it on the plate. I then cut 2 small hearts out for the “love birds”. One in pink and one in red.
To complete my vignette, I grabbed a brass candlestick I had spray painted blue for my Beach Inspired Mantel. I added a candle that was a little dirty and nicked. I then put a kids sock from the dollar store on it, to cove up my marred candle. You can see directions on how to do that in my Candle Cozie post. Not only does it allow me to recycle my candles it adds some great design to the candle as well.
Now when Valentines day is over I can peel the hearts off and use my bird wall art in my spring decor. The red plate minus the vinyl heart will be great for 4th of July or Christmas. The candlestick will be used for other things.
